Pastor John just returned from another trip to the village in southern Sudan. He reports that militia came to the village again recently. They took children and harmed children that refused to go. Here is a direct quote from Pastor John. "The militia group are abducting children and take to be sold. If a child refuses to go with them they remove teeth, or chop off one ear or eye from that child and leave him that way. It is bad." The men are disarmed and the houses are burned. Please pray we can bring more children to Kenya to be cared for by Pastor John.

Houses for the Sudanese children

The men of Pastor John's church started making bricks the first few days of 2010. The bricks are made from the clay on the church property and water from the well also located on the property. As soon as they form 30,000 bricks the first home for 15 children will take shape.
Pray it doesn't rain so much it ruins the bricks.
Pastor Thomas has twins!!

Bucks for blankets
Pastor Davidson reports that he needs funds for blankets in the Mt Elgon area.
There is a family of newly orphaned children. Their mother recently died of
starvation and the children are now under the care of elderly grandparents.
A gift of any size will help supply blankets for these children. Any extra will go
to buy food for this family.

Malaria menace
Malaria is such a menace to the people we care for in Kenya and Sudan. Pastor John's wife and child were afflicted this past week. Pastor Davidson's wife was recently very ill with malaria.
Most of the time the adults survive, but not the case of children under age 5. In Africa a child
under 5 years of age dies every 30 seconds. (stats from WHO) Please pray for God to intervene
for the ones who are ill and for the malaria problem in general. The people can receive injections, but it is not free. An African pastor asked me, "How can something so small like a mosquito take such a big man down?" Only God can bring the solution to this violent attacker.
