Sudan Village

Pastor John took this video on one of
his trips this past year. This clearly
shows you why we bring the children
from Sudan to Kenya. We endeavor to
provide food, shelter, medical needs,
and education.

Prayer Requests

The Sudanese children are at home from school this month, but May 1st the schools reconvene and all school fees are due. Pray we can meet that need. Education is so important for them.

The rainy season is in full swing. Pray against diseases associated with the rains such as malaria, typhoid and cholera. Our children now have clean water which eliminates typhoid and cholera as long as they drink water at home. Malaria is a threat always. New mosquito nets are needed.

Pastor John is on his way back from Sudan. He says it is dangerous...so pray he returns safely.

The president of Sudan has ordered NGO's out of the country, so pray for the village in Sudan that they can survive this time.

Pastor John's wife now has malaria. Pray for her swift recovery.

Pray for the malaria problem. When the rainy seasons comes, so do mosquitoes. Ask God to intervene in a miraculous way.

Pray for the children, that we would have sponsors who will help buy books, uniforms, etc. so the children would be able to attend school.

Pray that the children who came from living in mud huts in Sudan would make a smooth transition into living in housing in Kenya.

Welcome!

We, Children Are People, join together our hearts, resources and prayers for the purpose of relieving suffering of children in the poorest areas of the world.

We support Sudanese children and Kenyan children who are under the care of pastors and other Christian caregivers. We have also been able to reach out to Haitian children who suffer in the poorest country in the world.

It is amazing how God can use a small organization like ours to make such an impact. Thank you for giving into this work to sustain the lives of young people who felt forgotten and were left to starvation and disease. Jesus said if we give a cup of water to one of these we have given it unto him. (my paraphrase of Matthew 10:42)

Water is Life

"Water is Life" is a quote from Pastor John Garang. He is the pastor overseeing the care of our Sudanese refugee children. The children came from Maar Sudan, a village in southern Sudan where Pastor John, a lost boy of Sudan, grew up. John is just returning from that village this week with reports that many children are dying. Pastor John brings children to Kenya to live and go to school.

God gave John land, a church and now as of January 2009....a water well on the property! They can drink, bathe and wash without fear of illness or lack. The well is deep (about 280 ft) and the water has tested excellent in clarity and purity. The water is life for them and can be sold cheap enough for the people in the surrounding area to buy it. Many were using river water to wash and drink!

Thank you Lord for providing the water and the health it brings.

Christmas Celebration

Thank you to everyone who helped this past December. From gifts to garage/bake sale & other fundraising ideas, funds were gathered to feed about 350 children a Christmas meal. Here is a picture of Pastor Davidson's Gospel Celebration in Chwele. Many came hungry for physical and spiritual food.

The Sudanese Group: Christmas 2008

Here are Pastor John's Sudanese children just after their Christmas meal this past December. About 90 children came from Sudan to Kenya to live and go to school. Since their are so many children, it is a major endeavor to send them all to school. Each quarter the cost is about $2200. Three quarters per year = $6600. That is a lot of money! (I shouldn't have added those up.)

Most children are in Kenyan public schools, but the older students attend an academy in nearby Kitale to get the courses they need for high school. In 2008 all children went paid in full, but this year we need more help. If you or someone you know would love to give to this purpose, please pass on this information.
