Pastor Josiah reports that God remembered Kenya
Pastor Josiah from Nairobi Kenya recently sent word that the drought in Kenya that left many people and animals dying from thirst is now over. The long awaited rains came this week!!
Bucks for blankets
Pastor Davidson reports that he needs funds for blankets in the Mt Elgon area.
There is a family of newly orphaned children. Their mother recently died of
starvation and the children are now under the care of elderly grandparents.
A gift of any size will help supply blankets for these children. Any extra will go
to buy food for this family.

Malaria menace
Malaria is such a menace to the people we care for in Kenya and Sudan. Pastor John's wife and child were afflicted this past week. Pastor Davidson's wife was recently very ill with malaria.
Most of the time the adults survive, but not the case of children under age 5. In Africa a child
under 5 years of age dies every 30 seconds. (stats from WHO) Please pray for God to intervene
for the ones who are ill and for the malaria problem in general. The people can receive injections, but it is not free. An African pastor asked me, "How can something so small like a mosquito take such a big man down?" Only God can bring the solution to this violent attacker.

School Fees
Our greatest challenge for the Sudanese children living in Kenya is the school fees.
Some of the students are in grade school, but several are high school students doing
very well in their studies. In Kenya, students attend school by the quarter; 3 months
on and 1 month off. The fees are due Sept 1st, Jan 1st and May 1st. The average
cost per month is $700 USD. That is only $7.77 USD per child per month. The challenge
comes when you mulitply that by 90 children. Please help in any way you can. Some of
the high school students are reviewing for quarter exams and as it stands right now...
they are at home waiting for God to make the way.

Pastor Thomas was having his church services under a tent set up and taken down every week.
When the rainy seasons come, the church cannot meet. Too muddy and wet.
Nearby a new timber structure is being built. For $40.00 per month, the congregation (including many children) can meet in a room with no rainouts. The church is growing out of the twelve benches we bought for them initially. About 12 more are needed. Each bench is about $20 to make. If you would like to help with this project, just go to the giving page. Thanks for caring about the children of Africa.

New updates
Pastor John made another trip to Sudan thinking that something terrrible happened.
Much to his surprise, the commissioner of his district presented him with a vehicle.
It is a small Suzuki, but a very good car. It uses small amounts of fuel but needs shocks
and tires. Some funds have come in for the car, but more is needed.
